I have been wanting to make an amigurami for a while now and have looked at pattern after pattern but can't seem to get started. I'm a little intimidated, I guess! They look super hard, but according to the patterns, they're for advanced beginners. That would be me! Has anyone tried them? I'd love some advice!
Here are some of the one's that I've been looking at
These are all from Amy Gaines
and these
from Irene Strange
Plus, if you go to her website Reeneegurumi, there are a couple of free downloads
Percy the elephant and Roosting Birds and My Tiny Bunny
They are all so cute!
Have a great day!

I would love to learn also!!!! I love the top one. :)
ReplyDeleteI say just dive in, the water is fine! ;)
ReplyDeleteI personally find amigurumis a little time consuming...those tiny little hooks! Although I haven't made one since my crochet skills have gotten much better, I'll have to bust one out and let you know how it goes. All of the books and patterns I've come across make it pretty self explanitory, they even have little "keys" in the beginning that you can refer to if you're not quite sure about a stitch...love that! Plus, theres no rule that says you have to follow a pattern exactly from beginning to end, I think the wonky ones are the cutest ones. xo.
I'd love to learn. These are all lovely! My favorite are the owls and the elephants!
ReplyDeletei love these! i want to make one too.
ReplyDeletep.s. found you via janels craft swap
I love crocheting! I'm a beginner. I've made a few amigurami, they weren't as hard as they looked, good luck!
ReplyDeleteI found you through the craft swap! I'm excited to get to know you better!
